SAMOA Birthday Picnic - September 8, 2018
Twenty-eight years ago on October 13, 1990, a group of thirteen Miata enthusiasts from the Sacramento area gathered at Carmichael Park.  That group organized
SAMOA (Sacramento Area Miata Owners Association). Only 2 of those individuals remain with the Club now: Skip Noyes and Dennis Swaney.  This year SAMOA will
celebrate its 28th anniversary with a BBQ lunch and wine tasting at the
Windwalker Vineyard and Winery.  Owners Jim and Alanna Taff have again graciously offered
us the use of their facilities at no cost to our Club.  This will be our eleventh year at their winery.  

Activities will include: wine tasting, a catered BBQ lunch, lawn games, and having fun.  Or you can sit in the shade and just watch.  This is a great opportunity to meet
the Officers and other members.  Please bring folding “Miata” chairs if you have them.                                      

Cowabunga BBQ will cater our lunch and the menu will be: smoked chicken, smoked pulled pork, coleslaw, potato salad, green beans with bacon & onions, and rolls.  
SAMOA will provide soda, water, and Birthday cake.  
The day will start with Ron Petrich leading an organized group drive to the winery.  Meet behind the McDonald’s at
11250 White Rock Rd, Rancho Cordova by 9:00
AM for a 9:30 AM departure.  Or you can drive there on your own.  Windwalker is located at
7360 Perry Creek Road, Somerset (530-620-4054).  Plan to arrive
around 11:00 AM for registration and to receive your wrist band.  Wine tasting also starts at 11:00 AM and lunch is scheduled for 12:30 PM.  

The cost is $10 per SAMOA member, payable in advance.  Each membership will be allowed two attendees at the $10 per person price.  Additional attendees and non-
member cost is $24 per person.  

RSVP for this event has been extended to Saturday, September 1, 2018. You can purchase tickets by mail or in person at both the July and August Club meetings.

 Please note that NO REFUNDS will be issued after August 24, 2018.

The BOO (Board of Officers) look forward to seeing you there.  
In addition to all of the above, additional fundraising
activities at the picnic will be in support of the
Cal Fire
Foundation.  This will include a raffle of selected items as
well as our proverbial water balloon toss.

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that supports
the families of fallen firefighters and the California
communities that they protect.
