Ralph Gingrich Memorial Fort Bragg Run - October 5-8, 2018
This annual event is a big favorite. This will be the Club’s 28th year making this run. The run is named the “Ralph Gingrich Memorial Fort Bragg Run” in honor of Ralph,
who directed the run for many years. We will make a run to Fort Bragg on Friday, October 5th, 2018 for a weekend stay. Those of you who cannot leave on Friday may
also get together to organize a run starting on Saturday, October 6h, or just come on your own. We have a bloc of rooms reserved at the Best Western in Fort Bragg.
This is the Columbus Day holiday weekend so our special rate of $106 plus tax will be available the nights of October 5th to October 7th (checking out the 8th). We will
also have the use of the Cottage for group activities.

This event allows you to find your own fun in this beautiful coastal area (maps of possible drives will be provided. People can also choose to participate in various events
we will organize or attend such the Medicino Ocean and Seafood Fair. If you enjoyed the World Championship Abalone Cook-off you will not want to miss MAPA’s new
event. The Abalone Cook-off has been one of the best parties on the coast. Due to the closure of the Abalone Fishery and the prohibitive cost of farm raised abalone,
the Mendocino Area Parks Association has re-imagined this event. MAPA has always taken pride in providing a unique and rewarding experience at the Abalone cook-off
If, and MAPA will be putting that same pride into our new event.

The Mendocino Ocean & Seafood Fair
Saturday, October 6th
Columbus Day Weekend
Still in Noyo Harbor, still with Great Food, Wine, Beer, Music, Silent Auction and Craft Fair. Chefs will be creating their very best seafood recipes for you to taste, with an
emphasis on sustainability: farm raised abalone, locally caught rock fish, uni (sea urchin), sea weed and other surprises. A carnival, fun fair, atmosphere will be created in
the South Noyo Harbor. In addition we are planning to partner with other local organizations who are working to preserve and protect our Oceans and the resources we
have come to depend on, not just for our economy, but for our health and well-being, and that of the planet we call home.

Your MAPA membership allows you to purchase advance discount vouchers**. Nonmembers can purchase vouchers after July 1st.  At the event your vouchers will be
exchanged for a strip of ten (10) fair tickets to spend as you choose for seafood tastes, drink, Fair T-shirts, games and more. Come early to get the best selection! A
limited number of Fair tickets will be printed to ensure that everyone gets to taste a selection of recipes and enjoy the Fair. The Fair will not sell out, but the Fair tickets
could. To purchase member discounted tickets you will need to have your MAPA membership number or "discount code".  Ticket vouchers are available at

This event is the main fundraiser produced by and for the Mendocino Area Parks Association (MAPA) to support natural and cultural history programs in the State Parks of
Mendocino County, as well as park improvement projects, park advocacy, and the operation of Standish-Hickey State Recreation Area.
**Fair ticket vouchers are non-refundable.**

The Friday run will leave from the McDonalds off of the Mace Blvd exit in Davis. We will meet at 8:00 a.m. and leave promptly at 8:30 a.m. This will be a leisurely drive
with several rests stops. We will stop at the Napa Valley Olive Oil Manufacturing Company to buy picnic lunch supplies and stop again for a picnic along the way at White
Oak Winery.

Telephone the motel directly at 1-707-964-4776 to make your reservations. Because this is both a holiday weekend, as well as the weekend of the Abalone Festival it is
a good idea to reserve well in advance. Be sure to mention you are with our group. The proprietors of the Best Western know us as “THE Miata Club”. Please either call
or email us as soon as you make your reservations for the trip so we will know how many cars/people are coming.
